Divers at Lepe
by A warbler a day
Despite feeling a little off-colour today I decided not to waste the good weather and so headed to the coast at Lepe. It was high tide when I arrived and so I walked toward Lepe House. From there I was excited to see 2 Great Northern Divers fairly close inshore. They dived frequently, obviously catching plenty of crabs or molluscs. After lunch I walked to Stansore Point where the Lesser Yellowlegs was again showing well along with some Dunlin, Ringed Plovers and a Snipe. I also saw my first Rock Pipit of the year. Amongst the gulls there were several Mediterranean Gulls. It was well worth the visit.
