Otters and a Kingfisher!
by A warbler a day
After my weeks sojourn in Essex I stayed around Andover today. I went for a short walk round Anton Lakes this afternoon. As I got out of the car I saw a family I know who told that there were some Otters in the pond by the car park. Naturally I went to have a look. Soon after a Kingfisher flashed overhead. A couple of minutes later there was some movement in the reeds on the near side of the pond and then an Otter emerged, quickly followed by a second one. The pair spent several minutes frolicking under a tree in the pond which the Kingfisher was using as a perch. So you could see Otter and Kingfisher at the same time. Delightful!
