by A warbler a day
Apologies for the lack of posts over the past 3 weeks. I’ve recently moved home and subsequently had to wait to get my broadband installed. I can now update on my recent sightings.
* An afternoon trip to Blashford Lakes on 11th produced my Siskins of the season
* Flocks of Redwing have regularly spotted since 23rd in various sites along the Test and Anton Valleys, including 1 flying over my flat.
* Walking around Testwood Lakes after work on 25th I saw a large raptor flying into nearby trees but rather than the expected Buzzard it turned out to be a Harris Hawk that had obviously escaped from its owner.
* There were also still a few dragonflies (Common Darters and Migrant Hawkers) and butterflies (Commas, Red Admirals and a Brimstone.
