by A warbler a day
Yesterday work took me again to New Milton so naturally I ended up at Pennington Marsh. There I found loads of waders. On the lagoon there were large flocks of Dunlin and Black-tailed Godwit plus a few Redshanks and Ringed and Little Ringed Plovers. I am sure I even spotted a few Curlew Sandpipers amongst the Dunlins. On the shoreline there was a feeding flock of Turnstones. However there was no sign of the Long-billed Dowitcher (an american vagrant) though some birders I spoke to had spotted it earlier that day!
