A stroll up the hill.
by A warbler a day
Having been struggling all day with back spasm I decided that a slow stroll up the Red Rice Road would loosen the back up. I’m glad I did as in addition to the usual Swallows and Greenfinches I found a Chiffchaff singing in the hedge opposite Bury Ring Farm. It got so close I did not even need my binoculars. The same hedge also had a handsome male Yellowhammer. Later as I walked back to my flat I spotted a couple of Linnets perched on an electricity wire. At the end of last summer there was regularly a flock of Linnets on those wires and it is good to see them back. I’m glad to report also that the walk had the desired effect on my back.
