After work at Pennington

by A warbler a day

Once again I finished work with a visit in the New Milton area and so i thought I’d have a stroll around Pennington Marsh before heading backs to Andover. For once it was dry and reasonably warm when I got there. During the week I’d seen on the internet that there were 3 Spoonbills in the area. i was expecting that if I managed to see them they would be say in the distance, probably obscured by some long vegetation. Instead they were striding purposefully through the nearest pool to the path. wonderful views! Also seen were a few Teals, a pair of Shovelers and best of all a male Eider swimming slowly off shore close to the sea wall. It was lovely way to wind down after a busy day at work.
