Terns in Trees!

by A warbler a day

I visited Charlton at lunchtime today and was pleased to see that the Common Terns had returned. Not only that but, like last year, they were perching on the top of the fir trees in the middle of the fishing lake. This is the only place I have seen them do that and I’m not aware that it is usual behaviour. I’m assuming that they are the same pair and with luck they will stay in the area all summer..
