Swifts and Warblers

by A warbler a day

Yesterday I went for a quick stroll around Stockbridge Common Marsh where I was pleased to find half a dozen Swifts in amongst the swallows and martins swooping over the grassland. I also saw my first Sedge Warbler of the year in some bushes near the bridge. I later heard 2 further males singing (in sedge tussocks, naturally) downstream.

Today I added another warbler to my list this year, a Garden Warbler seen in a bush by Mill Lake, Rooksbury Mill. Despite the name, Garden Warblers are rarely seen in gardens.
